If you have great reasons then you need to tell them what these reasons are. Tell them that you wish to talk to them and in a calm way explain what is bothering you and why it's bothering you. If you keep calm then what you say will be taken far more seriously than saying something in anger. It will tell this person just how upset you are. A calm tone also means that you've thought things through and you're not speaking in anger. Try to start with a positive and then include the "but," it will make them less defensive. Good luck!

There are a number of different ways, well you could ignore said person and just let the friendship fall apart but trying this method may result in them getting angry/yelling/starting rumors about you ext. You could confront them directly and tell them "Hey, things have changed, and I just feel like we dont share the same feelings and ideas anymore so I think it would be better if we didn't hang out anymore." Which works with some people, there are other ways but if at all possible I try to keep my friends unless they turn on me. Well hope that helps!!!

If you are breaking off any kind of relationship with any person it is going to be mean. Even if you do it nicely. People are generally hurt to find out their friends don't like them. If you are concerned about that then why not continue being friends, just at a more distant level?

Why bother to say it nicely if you don't wanna be friends anymore? However nicely you may put it, its gonna be the same!!
The other party will most likely gonna be hurt. Haven't you heard of the saying,"friends are forever?"

well beings that you have good reasons, then you should as nicely as you can explain to your friend why you can not be friends and start to list them as you go . and try not to be nasty even if the person is getting nasty remember you are braking up your friendship. and remember if you where in that persons shoes so be nice and gentle

I don't think there's actually a "nice" way to do it.
But if you have good reasons, what are they?
Also, make sure you're just not saying that because you're upset. If you are, give yourself time to cool off and reconsider.
