Let's be accurate here. B.A. has not banned the wearing of the crucifix, just the wearing of it openly in display. They have quoted long standing rules to do with jewellery. Although they allow bangles when associated with faith. Whether this is discriminatory by intent or some form of P.C. problem I don't know. My guess would be that other faiths have gradually pushed back the barriers concerning their own expressions of faith. It is a pity that they simply didn't ignore the item, it is only the size of a 5p (about 12mm, 1/2") diameter. Now they are embroiled in all sorts of accusations, real or imagined. As someone attempting to become a Christian at the moment(and not a B.A. employee) it sums up our general lack of tolerance. It does seem as if B.A. have reacted because this lady works directly with the public. They seem to be afraid that people may be offended by a member of their staff wearing something displaying Christian
faith but not worried that others may be offended by other faith symbols. It doesn't make a lot of sense, If someone comes to work carrying a six foot cross which would be very obtrusive and likely to affect their ability to work then maybe they should get worried!

I think the whole lot of them should go to work with their crosses on even on their ears if they have. That will teach them a lesson. There is no reason for them to stop someone from showing their affection for their God by wearing a cross. The only reason I can come up with is that they are evil. Who ever came up with the rulling has a lot to explain to God, I wonder if he or she will ever get the chance. The bible does say, seek Him while He may still be found. Isaiah 55 verse 6.

Jesus Loves you, oh, and them too..

The worker who got told to not wear the crucifix was told not to have any necklace showing over the uniform as that was the uniform dress code for BA which she would have known when she started her job... she is just trying to make a point like a lot of people these days about religion or being politically correct... so the answer is no as it is the dress code of BA as long as its under the shirt... not a religious bandwagon thing that everyone keeps jumping on.. hope that answers that one lol

Not at all. BA should be ashamed of their restriction,
no matter what the religion may be. Perhaps their
actions were taken based on the old superstition
that a priest on board was a sign of bad luck, which
has been forgotten by most travellers a long time
ago.

Can I point out that the issue is not about the fact that it is a crucifix, its because its jewelery, and any form of jewelery is not allowed to be worn outside the uniform according to BA policy. In my opinion, let her wear it, who cares, its only a necklace.

They can wear one as long as it`s under clothing. I think B.A. are spot on here. Ones Religious preference should`t come into work, I also don`t think that turbans or hijabs should be allowed either. If you want to wear a religious symbol or clothing apply for a post that isn`t "front line." I don`t think religion should be included in schools either. I totally disagree with "Faith Schools."
