Many years ago when I`d drive my Family all the way from California to different parts of west, and east Texas, and back to Cali. Then long haul truck drivers had great expertise and were the safest, and most helpful motorist on the Hwy. But it seems now, some of them are the most unsafe, and dis-courteous, some give a swelling attitude of, "Get outta ma way", before I mow you down! Whats up with that? Breaker, Breaker, Don`t some of them have family and friends driving out there somewhere? Maann, and with all the Holidays comming in, I almost dread driving, because of some people who will be drinking and driving, And Now, some "Big Rig" drivers frighten me too because many are driving at an unsafe speed, are discourteous, and unfriendly on the hwy. Are you, or someone you know, a Safe and Courteous Big Rig long haul Driver? Please Come back, and I wish you all Safe driving regardless to what you drive, Not just during the holidays but "always." "HAPPY and SAFE HOLIDAYS" to ALL

There are still a few of us out here. :) The biggest cause of the decline in the "Professional" driver, is there are fewer drivers these days that are brought up in the industry. More and more drivers are trained in 6-8week schools and then when they get a job they are so scared of losing it that they feel they have to drive crazy just to make sure they make their appointments. The industry has a shortage of drivers all the time, which pushes schools to push their students through the program with limited skills and thats just bad for all of us.

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Be sure to give thanks for the driver and soliders that cant be with their families.

Keep the rubber side down!

OH I have to add my input here, in due respect of the older crowd who are the pioneers of the road. I am speaking of the older generation who are out there still pushing the pedal, with weary eyes. They are the hero's of the roads, who allows the 4 wheelers, that cut them off, then slams on their brakes. These are the hero's who still have the patience to ignore the ignorant 4 wheelers, who think they can drive any which way but lose, on the roads. Never getting angry or upset when a car does something outragous, to cause an accident. I have seen this gone on many times and said to myself, I could never be a Professional Truck Driver, the one who carry's the most weight, but also alot of patience. That is one who is called Professional. Now the other side is that many newbies, that are out in them rigs, are not considered Professional,if they carry no Patience, with them. Those are the younger crowd who thinks, of not the Profession, but only the money factor. They are not the Hero's of the Road. Just like the one said above, "They push them through truck driving school, and put the picture, of money and freedom in their heads." The real Professionals are the ones, who make the Road their life, that carry A LOT OF PATIENCE with them. . Happy Trails !

Oh yes they still exist. Although they are becoming an endangered species. One of them works for me. He covers many miles each week and is always willing to offer a helping hand when possible. He is a very conscientious driver and definitely not your run of the mill truck driver. I wish you a very happy Thanksgiving and hope you have many safe miles ahead of you.

There are some but if you want to make money at it you have to speed. But most of the car drivers are jerks to they speed,no blinker, cut you off, pass and then slow down. If you do not speed you really will not make as much money.
