Depends on how dirty it is. Is the lining dirty too? Or is it just the outside. I wear leather all the time(biker), and I clean mine with a wet washcloth, no soap, then immediately dry it off. Do not put it in the washer or dryer. The dryer will shrink it...my aunt did that...LOL. Anyway, if it needs a serious cleaning, take it to the dry cleaners. :)

It really depends on the type of leather coat you have. If it's a suede or similar type leather, or if it's the black (polished) leather. A suede or such a dry cleaner is your best option to prevent against spotting or staining your coat. If its a polished leather, you can use a damp cloth with mild soap to clean it. After you clean it, use a leather conditioner on it to help preserve it, keep it soft and looking good. I've had my leather coat since 1988 and it still looks good, and this is how I've cared for it. You can buy leather conditioner from leather shops, like Wilson's Leather and such.

you may purchase a leather-based coat purifier in maximum place of work shops. stick to the guidelines on the can & use a clean, gentle fabric. (terry fabric is terrific) (Wal*Mart, ok Mart, etc.) The purifier works large on leather-based jackets, yet i'm uncertain approximately removing the physique scent or storage scent. Spray the liner of the jacket with Febreeze that asserts "fabric" on the can. It removes many outfits odors or different fabric odors.

Yes, there is a way to clean your leather jacket at home. I mostly did it with Leather-Clean. Nomally we all know that water damages leather. but when Leather-Clean is used, then it is possible to wash in water at home. I think this leather degergent will help you.

Do not I repeat Do not try to clean leather in a washer and dryer. You would never be able to wear it again. It has to be cleaned by a dry cleaner who specializes in suede and leather.

Since it's a leather jacket I imagine it's probably expensive. Now why would you want to ruin it at home? Take it to the cleaners to be safe.
