With todays medical advances hysterectomy should be your last option if you are truly dealing with Uterine Fibroid Tumors.

I would recommend going to http://www.webmd.com to do some research on the different options you have.

There are a couple things you can consider doing surgically through laproscopic techniques to reduce or remove the fibroids.
You will probably need to do an Ultrasound and/or an MRI to help you & your doctor determine the best procedure to consider.

I will say take the wait and see approach for a little bit before deciding to surgically remove them. If they don't grow quickly you might never have any need to do anything more than adjust your food & supplement intake. The should stop growing after menopause since they feed on estrogen.

You do want to decrease caffeine and chocolates, eat less animal protein and normalize your hormones.

There is a great book I use for natural therapies and helps. You might see if you can get your hands on it to do some quick research. It's called Healthy Healing by Linda Page. Or go to a good health food store and ask them if they have any information / products that can help.

YOU HAVE LOTS OF CHOICES and should not be afraid of this diagnosis. You don't have to lose your uterus and can still have babies.

Hope this helps

UPDATE:
There is another helpful website I'd like to share http://www.mdchoice.com

Baptist Hospital in Miami offers another solution not listed yet. It is called Uterine Artrery Embolization. (UFE). They have found there is one artery which supplies the fibroids in the Uterus. Through a laproscopic procedure they inject very small pellets into this artery to block the blood flow. When this happens the tumors will shrink and/or die.

One thing that I've learned is you can remove or have the UFE performed today but if your continue to produce fibroids you will have to deal with this again later.

So you will have to think about childbirth today and what you think you would want to do in the future when making this decision.

Medicines: Medicines are used to decrease the size of fibroids in preparation for surgery, or to decrease the symptoms caused by fibroids.

GnRH agonists such as leuprolide (Lupron); these are drugs that stop the body from making the hormones that cause women to have their periods. As a result, fibroids shrink and symptoms decrease. GnRH agonists only shrink fibroids to 30-50% of their original size, and fibroids will regrow when the medicine is discontinued. For this reason, they are used only to help decrease bleeding as a woman prepares for surgery.
Birth control pills can also decrease bleeding caused by fibroids. If a woman does not have risk factors that prevent her from taking hormones, this may be a good option for treating the symptoms caused by fibroids.
NSAIDS are over-the-counter medicines that can decrease the amount of menstrual bleeding, as well as treat minor to moderate pain caused by fibroids.
Surgical Treatments

Myomectomy: removal of the fibroid or fibroids that are causing symptoms. This can be done through an incision in the abdomen (abdominal myomectomy), or through the vagina, without an incision (hysteroscopic myomectomy).
Hysterectomy: partial or complete removal of the uterus. This can be done through an incision in the abdomen (abdominal hysterectomy), through the vagina (vaginal hysterectomy), or through instruments placed through several small incisions in the abdomen (laparoscopic hysterectomy)
Endometrial Ablation: This treatment uses electrical energy or heat energy to destroy the lining of the uterus. This reduces the amount of bleeding a woman has with her periods.

I think that caffein and chocolate have something to do with them. Ive had a fibroid in my breast, and have a few more now which my dr. has attributed to too much caffein.
