I need to create an online shopping page on my dad's web site where people can purchase items using only a credit card (that info will go to the bank so I don't need to worry about that part). I want to display the items and prices, keep a running total and add shipping at the end. Can this be done with VB? I mean can front page accept VB and display it on a web page?

There is a page-scripting language based on VB called VBScript. VBScripts will run in FrontPage.

You would be better off getting a "shopping cart" for your dad's site. I am using CubeCart to build an ecommerce site. Their software is free, but branded. For under $100, you can remove the branding, and save yourself the headache of reinventing the wheel.

Front page is "old school". get Visual Web Developer 2005 Express (link below). It does a LOT more cooler things than frontpage.

You can sign up for a paypal account, and post buttons on your page to purchase items like a shopping cart, but a lot easier. (that's the route i would go)

i does not say there's a greater valuable programming language. seen hardship-unfastened is fantastically stable, besides the undeniable fact that it would not get you familiarized with something previous hardship-unfastened programming thoughts. C# and Java are based on a similar concepts, yet Java is greater transportable because it works on any working equipment, on a similar time as C# will artwork basically on living house windows. besides the undeniable fact that, the integrated progression ecosystem (IDE) you have for C#, seen Studio, is truthfully impressive to apply. i could propose gaining information of the two Java or C#. as quickly as you be attentive to one in all them, it relatively is ordinary to evaluation different different. stable success!
