Elizabeth Bennet from pride and prejudice. She is one of the strongest female characters ever written, and I just love her personality.

That or the Little King, from Little King December, it is such a cute book with a very interesting premise. If you can you should read it some day.

Victor Mancini from the book Choke by Chuck Palahniuk (the guy that wrote Fight Club). The story is told in first person, and from the first page, he's completely honest about himself and all of his faults. He does a lot of bad things, but he has good reason to do so. He's really not all that bad a guy.

My other fave is Delores Claiborne by Stephen King. She's an amazing woman who's worked hard her entire life, and she would do anything to protect her children (even plan the "accidental" death of her husband). Aside from the whole murder thing, she's quite inspiring.
