Well, dancing does come to mind, but I can think of another activity that guys and gals can do that is fun for both. It is aerobic, natural and when done correctly very safe.

It all depends on the family background. But in general I do belief boys still get more freedom than girls do. However, I don't think most girls make an issue of that. Most of the time, they actually agree with the fact that they shouldn't go out alone or late nights. It has all got to do with upbringing and environmental influences. In that sense, India is no different from other countries.
The only difference may be that lesser youngsters (and especially girls) go out for parties and discos etc. But they do make up for that by going for lunches and catch movies etc. It's not as bad a situation as some people think it is. In fact, I think youngsters with Indian parents living abroad are in a worse position, because their (and their familiy's) thinking do not match with those of their friends. I mean to say that they do have friends that party late nights and then it can be difficult to explain why you're not coming along...but that's another situation.

They do have different ways of doing things than we do here in America, but don't let that fool you.

Their family dynamics are pretty much the same.
There are strict families and not so strict families.

Some girls get to hang out at the mall, go dancing, go to the movies, etc.
Some girls don't. Some for religious reasons and some for the same reason I didn't get to do those things when I was a teenager...my Dad was a jerk.
Boys aren't necessarily given more privileges, just different.
The design is to keep girls safe. Not a bad concept, just not always acceptable.

Some do some don't it is the same thing with boys also.

By and large they have to be reserved, but most boys do not dance with boys or take the floor themselves alone.
