My doctor prescribed me the oral contraceptive Loestrin FE 1/21...but she told me to just take the white pills and chuck out the iron so that I would be taking 63 white pills and then nothing for a week and so on....Now, I just found out that Loestrin 21 is just the white pills with no iron but I was just wondering if the white pills had the same effect?????....
Why would she give me the ones with the iron pills if I was never gonna take them? I guess that pharmacy didnt carry the regular pack?
Im running out of pills and I want to get the regular Loestrin 21 cuz they less expensive.....

The Loestrin Fe is just the same as the white pills only it has a week of the iron tablets along with it. The price difference between the 2 should be minimal. People on other kinds of birth control take 21 days of active pills, then a week of placebo. For people with iron deficiencies, a doctor may prescribe Loestrin Fe so that person has more energy during their period. If you don't think the iron pills are necessary, then there's no harm in taking regular Loestrin. Just ask your doctor for it. FYI: If price is an issue, both products have generics that contain the same ingredient and are equally as effective.

there's a comfortable distinction between the two, yet you're nonetheless going to be secure against being pregnant. i've got confidence the sole distinction is that Loestrin 24 and Loestrin a million/20 is their era lengths. So on Loestrin 24 fe you may have a 4 day era, and a 7 day era Loestrin fe a million/20. They the two have a similar hormones nevertheless, so which you're large.

Most people do better if they have a pill for each day--keeps them on schedule. Ask the pharmacist to call her office and have them changed to L21.
