i have to write a mystery for English and i need some ideas!!!
nothing that is really gory please!!!

Here's an idea:
Look at the latest issue of GAMES magazine
and work the puzzles on lateral thinking.
All 4 of them contain a good idea for a mystery.
My favourite was about the mechanic who
popped the hood and said the rods were shot.
