I am writing a paper for my English Composition Class and would be interested in hearing your thoughts as to why we as Americans love criminal law television, examples: Criminal Minds, Law and Order, CSI, Close to Home, COPS, America's Most Wanted?

=because they can actually learn something and understand a bit more as to how the criminal mind works because we good people generally do not think like that. These people that like these shows tend to like thee medical shows as well. I know I do.. Much better than the Simpson's or Fear Factor or some of the sitcoms

I don't usually answer homework questions, but yours seems like you need personal opinions. I have Law & Order on as I'm writing this. I think some of us have been victims of violent crime (I'm in that category) and others are fascinated with the criminal mind from a psychological point of view. Still others may have grown up in a small town where nothing ever happened so they want to see how the other half lives.I hope this helps.

Our society is filled with people whom live vicariously through the television. They have little excitement in their own lives so they use crime tv as a way to make up for their humdrum life. These people arent smart enough to be good criminals or lawyers so they watch their dreams on television pretty sad huh

NO, NO AND NO! Why are we treating criminals greater proper than our protection rigidity?! Criminals have skipped over rules, and then there are human beings struggling with and absence of existence for our us of a and we don't supply them cable!

Many like to understand the mind of the criminal .... many like to see "the bad guy" get caught. It's much like reading the newspaper ... "violence" sells.
