Personally, I prefer entertaining in my home for the holidays. Most of my family can't cook, and if it's at their home, I usually end up coming early to do all the cooking anyway. At least if we're at my house, I already know where everything is, and I'm the one who planned the menu, and I don't end up making bizarre dishes that my mother wants to try out on everyone.

I prefer to be at home. It allows me to make sure all of the guests are taken care of.. foods warm, plenty of drinks, right music and set the mood. I clean as the party is going on so the is less to do at the end.

be a guest where i can eat all the food and not feel guilty.. i can stay late and no one would want to leave...when i do things at my place like a thanksgiving gathering no matter what people start leaving aroung 2am and dont want to stay any longer.... when i am a guest i bring the band along and the music keeps everyone dancing til 4 or 5am then its time to do christmas shopping.
