Isis is a goddess in Egyptian mythology. She was the wife and sister of Osiris and mother of Horus, and was worshipped as the archetypical wife and mother.

Her name literally means (female) of throne, i.e. Queen of the throne, which was portrayed by the emblem worn on her head, that of a throne. However, the hieroglyph for her name originally meant (female) of flesh, i.e. mortal, and she may simply have represented deified, historical queens.

Isis is from Egyptian mythology, wife and sister of Osiris and mother of Horus. After Osiris was murdered Isis put together the dismembered parts of Osiris's body and magically revived him. The epitome of fidelity and maternal devotion, she was worshipped throughout the ancient world.

Isis is one of the goddesses out of Egypt's pantheon of gods. She is the sister/wife of Osiris (who is also known has Horus). I believe she is the mother of/to all the other gods except Osiris and Seth.

Isis is one of the major goddesses in the Egyptian pantheon. She is the mother of Horus, the hawk-headed god of the Sun, and wife to Osiris, god of the Underworld. Her symbol is the ankh, and she is second in power only to Ra himself - and possibly not even him.
