Sounds like the battery, but to be certain, I'd check the rest of the electrical system as well.

Pop hood, check all battery connections first. if needed take them off and clean them. have someone give you a jump. When (and if) the car starts, take the cables off and check you amp/volt gauge if the car has one, see what it says. while the person is there with the cables, remove the negative battery cable. If the car stays running, your alternator is fine, if not, the alternator is probly bad and has drained the battery as well. before you go out and pay 150.00 for a remanufactured alternator, check into having that one rebuilt. Most times, thats what your buying anyways.
If the car stays running, get it to a part dealer (auto zone etc...) and have them check the battery.....
best of luck...

One way to check if its the battery have someone give you a jump start take the negative cable off of the battery and let the alternator run, if the alternator stays on its your battery if not its your alternator or it could be the starter. But more than likely its the alternator and or both.

Sounds like you popped a fuse. check them all (even the ones under the hood) and replace. If that's not it, then check the battery. The alternator could have been running the car on your way into work and once you shut it down, nothing.

It could be but get your alternator checked. That's what generates power, your battery just stores power from the alternator. You could also have a short somewhere.

Defiantly sounds like your battery. Look at the battery cables and clean them if necessary. Also check if you can add water to your battery, maybe not if it is main-free.

Could be battery or the alternator not charging the battery. It needs to be diagnosed.

I think it might be the battery, if not then maybe your starter is busted. Call your mechanic so he can inspected.
