You should actually be able to buy them in a pet shop, i manage a pet shop and we have them. Might not be exactly the same but they will do the same job.

I hear you on this one, I have a one year old baby girl and I worry about all this crap being sold out there. I don't think there's an easy way of saying this so I would suggest to just be straight out with them, tell them that you're not comfortable with your baby playing with plastic toys. I mean, even if they get bothered (which I highly doubt) what is more important to you? keeping your relatives happy, or keeping your child safe? Oh! one other thing you can do is register at a store such as Babies*R*Us and let them know that you are registered at such a store, that way they just have to buy off a list of items that you chose.
