No , nothing like that would be free, unless your name would be like yahoo or gmail or so :)
You have to register (buy) a domain name and make sure that they have email services with it, or you'd have to go and install and maintain your own email server and register its name (not an easy thing to do).
If you're happy with your domain name but not your email address, say that it's Ok to appear like someone@yourcompany.com, you can use mail Alias, that'll create something like, someoneelse@yourcompany.com. The domain name Can't be changed.

You can get an email address for free but you are the mercy of the company providing it. You can get a customized email address but you will have to pay for it. You will even let you do that.

No, after the @ symbol is the domain where the account is being hosted. You have to own a domain in order to have a choice after the @ symbol.
