I guess so, but I don't really pay attention to that....people used to say things like that to me when I wore glasses so I wouldn't feel so weird, but who wants to look smart, really? I just want to be me, and wearing glasses wasn't me. I prefer my contacts so I can see everything clearly!
I don't like wearing a watch simply because it gets in my way when I'm writing and typing ~ there are times when I should really rethink that!

I think wearing glasses can make you look smart.
If you see a person and they are wearing a watch, there's a good chance that this person knows what time it is...

Accessories not to mention clothing style, posture, and one’s demeanor can help a person appear smarter (or less smart..depending). I am left to wonder why someone would want to appear smarter instead of becoming smarter. If you want to pretend you are smarter than you are, you should probably be buying a book or enrolling in school instead of buying a watch or a pair of glasses.

sure....actually it's funny you mention that; I bought a new magazine the other night with this great pullout of watches, along with some pictures of the different James Bonds that have been around. Glasses are cool on most people, but I don't like wearing mine unless my eyes are tired from the contact lenses.

only if being able to tell you the time when you ask makes them look smart; and the glasses, well they don't make you look smart if you only need them to be able to read the watch

It can. It can also make them look incredibly stupid depending on the watch or glasses.
Dragon thinks she looks smart in her glasses. :)

Men can tend to do this especially if they do some sort of labor work etc because it can help to protect the face of the watch from getting scratched, cracked etc. My dad used to do...he is retired now and wears it the other way up now.
