John (who's real name was Marion BTW) did not use the same horse consistantly. Roy Rogers' horse was Trigger, and the Lone Ranger had Silver.

Marion. No wait, that was his real name. Duke! no wait, that was his dog's name that he adopted because the name Marion was too girly. Well, in True Grit his horse's name was Beau.

He never had any particular horse. They always just picked the biggest horse in the stable (because he was so tall).
