Not all girls bleed. Some don't even feel pain. I wasn't lucky enough for either one of those.

You cannot use bleeding or pain to indicate if a woman is a virgin because not everyone bleeds or has pain during the first time.

Many girls and teens tear or otherwise dilate their hymen while participating in sports like bicycling, horseback riding, gymnastics or inserting tampons, or while masturbating. A girl may not even know this has occurred, since there may be little or no blood or pain.

Some hymens are elastic enough to permit a penis to enter without tearing, or they tear only partially, and there is NO bleeding at all.

The vagina is pretty flexible - therefore, there may be little or no discomfort during sex.

Some girls do not bleed as their hymen is already broken from things like playing sports or using tampons etc. Pain is not always present either if they are relaxed and well lubricated. Also she may have used vibrators or other things and is very comfortable with her body so she will not be uncomfortable with sex the first time.

It's different for everyone. Most of the pain/bleeding is caused by breaking the hymen. Your hymen can be broke before having sex for the first time by masterbation or friction from everyday movements. If you're not very relaxed there can be some other pain, but probably not unbearable.

the majority of girls do experince pain their first time. However not all bleed. Bleeding is caused by the breaking of the hymen. The hymen may or may not be intact at the time of intercourse and this determines the amount of bleeding.

If you're really active, you probably won't bleed. Your hymen is probably already broken and your pretty stretched out. Or if you've put any objects in there that would stretch...

Otherwise, if you've sat with your legs together for 18 yrs and only did some light walking... you might bleed a bit.

Some girls are the lucky ones and don't bleed or feel pain. I bled the first three times and the pain was the worst in my life (and he was gentle)

not every girl bleeds. I was born without a hymen *aka cherry* and so was my sister we were both really freaked out when we had sex with our boyfriends and there was no pain. But i looked it up and its not that uncommon to not have a hymen or have had it perviously broken from something else.

The hymen is a fragile piece of flesh that breaks during intercourse. It could have been broken during masterbation, or even by a childhood accident. My neice fell on the crossbar of a boys bike as a child, and broke hers that way.
