I would like to know how much is a1942 silver mercury dime worth?

Unless it is in a high mint state grade it is worth only the silver value. 7-8 times face. Now there is a rare over date. Look at the 2 in 1942 and see if there is a one under it. If so, it is a rare coin and worth several hundred dollars. You did not mention a mint mark but is there is one it is on the back (reverse) at the bottom next to the E in one. There is a D over-date also, but no S. D- Denver,S-San Francisco.

Yes, definitely. The silver content alone makes them worth several times their face value. Now depending on condition, mint mark, rarity, these dimes could be worth a lot of money. Go to a book store or library, and get a book on numismatics. Look up the coins in this coin guide to get an idea what they could be worth.
