Many rabid James Bond fans complained mightily when producers cast Daniel Craig as the new James Bond. So I ask the naysayers: if you decided to give the movie a chance and have seen it already, what do you think of Craig in the role of your favorite superspy now?

By way of disclosure: I am NOT a rabid Bond fan, but after the movie received such excellent reviews, I did go see it on Saturday (the first time I've seen one in the theatres - even though I like Pierce Brosnan in general, I skipped over his whole tenure as Bond; I've seen films from the Connery/ Moore era on TV). I have to say, I thought both the film and Craig were outstanding.

I appreciate the answers I've gotten so far, but I am curious about specifics like:

1. Are you a major Bond fan?

2. What kind of preconceived notions did you have about the movie and/or Craig before you saw the film?

and

3. How did you feel about the film after you saw it - were those preconceived notions right or wrong?

I know it sounds like a homework question, but it's not! ; )

Gim "Sword" Li, what would be the point of that? He'd still be doing the same things this Bond is doing, but he'd just be called something else.

I also really liked the scene to which you refer, chromecranium - and not just for the dialogue, either!

I saw the movie and LOVED IT. I am not by any means a James Bond fan, and was so reluctant to see it. I thought Pierce Brosnan was a good James Bond, and never thought Craig could do better. But he proved me absolutely wrong.
Craig is raw, real and yet in some ways charming. He truly is how I think Ian Fleming imagined Bond to be. James Bond was not like a flamboyant charming ladies man, he was a spy, a killer, and rough around the edges. Just like Craig seems to be. This may be the BEST James Bond movie yet. FANTASTIC!

I would definitly have to agree with you! I'm not a huge bond fan as well, but some how I made it to the movie on opening night. The movie had almost everything I great movie should have.

DON"T READ IF YOU DON"T WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING OF THE STORY!

I liked the movie, but I have to say that the girl dying in the end sucked totally! She was SMOKIN'! It's too bad, but I guess that's what had to happen for the Bond series to go on. The "You scratched my balls scene" had me in tears it was so funny. In general I'd give the movie a 9. It was reallty good, but it wasn't great. I think the eight bucks for admissions was worth it completely and is definitly worth seeing. I plan on picking up the movie when it hits stores.

No the movie sucks! James Bond needs to be retired. Time for a new franchise with James Bond Jr as the new 007.
