I know the most common form of finding friends is finding something in common, but are there other ways? If so, what are those ways?

the women i am friends with now i have met: through work, through school, in my neighborhood, grew up with them, mother's of my kids' friends - just get out there and talk to other women - maybe you'll click, maybe you won't, but at least give it a try.

p.s. i just met a woman today at my dentist's office - she was the receptionist - we got to talking when i was making my next appt. - found out we are both recently split from our husbands, about the same age & looking for places to hang out with other singles - we exchanged phone #'s & now are getting together with other friends this wednesday nite.

Why would you want to be friends with someone with whom you have nothing in common? Even if you find someone that suits this criterium, perhaps THEY will not (for obvious reasons) want to be friends with YOU. Do you WANT to argue all the time? I don't get it, but chacun a son gout! (to each his own) Hey, I just remembered, I have a horrible cousin who refuses to ever agree with anyone about anything! You'd love her! Let me know and I'll get you two together. (Everyone hates her.)
