I want to know if condoms and spermicides are better for me to use. I've researched this topic until I've turned blue in the face. I really don't want all those hormones put in my body to put me outta wack. Also, please don't comment anything rude 'cause I think I've done a good job at bein' 19 and still a virgin and at least I'm wanting to be protected, ya know?

Better to use than what?

If you use condoms and spermicides perfectly every time, they are actually quite a good form of birth control (see the source). About 2 women out of 100 will get pregnant in a year of routine sex with condoms, if they do everything right. For many, this risk is too high, and those women use the pill. But there are many happy couples who use condoms with great success.

Perfect use, by the way, means that:
1. The condom is put on correctly every time (there are directions in the box and on the source page)
2. It is not too big or too small for the penis in question
3. The condom goes on before the penis gets near the vulva
4. When you two are finished, he pulls out before he loses his erection, gripping the condom around the base, tosses it out, and washes his penis with soap and water

A lot of people don't do it right, and that's why condoms have a bad rap as birth control methods.

Condoms are a good choice if used properly. They are your best defense against STD's. I dont use the pill because of the hormones and they do do crazy things to your body and mind.

Good job on abstinance, me too, still untouched. I'm not sure what the effects or side effects are, but I don't believe it will dramatically affect you, maybe they make you moody.
