Will the new $1 coins save the government money ? Will people want to use them ? What's your opinion and why ?

I don't understand the restistance in the US to use of $1 coins. In the EU, they use coins for 1, 2, and 5 Euros, and in England they use 1 pound coins.

Personally, given the cost savings effected by using coins vs. bills, I just think the US should stop printing $1 bills and start putting the $1 coins in circulation. People will use them and get accustomed to them.

Most of us carry too many one-dollar bills around in our wallets. To carry as many one-dollar coins would be cumbersome, and would only wear holes in our pockets. They're too heavy, I don't care whose picture appears on the coins!
Now, if you put George W. Bush's portrait on the coin, there might be a lot of people who would like to use the coins for skeet shooting!!! -RKO-

They will be used only if they make them alot bigger than quarters. Thats why nobody used them before because they were afraid of giving a dollar instead of a quarter.
