He did not say US victory was no longer possible, he said US MILITARY victory was no longer possible... that is because we already achieved a military victory. If the US military was still fighting a uniformed, identifiable, credible military, they would prevail. Yet, a uniformed and state sponsored military that represents a nation (the US) must fight the most unbelievable and despicable cowards that ever crawled the earth. They are disgusting as they use human shields; babies and women to fight their unjustified battles. The sooner they are eradicated the better. Kissinger should remember this from his responsibility in Vietnam. Do not glorify his comments.

Hmmm... I thought it was a proven historical fact that military victory over an entrenched guerilla force is near impossible. Kissinger should have learned this from his involvement in Vietnam. If he has been advising Bush for more than a year, this should have cropped up in the conversation somewhere along the line. If it did, Bush hasn't shown any sign of it.

AP reported today that Ahmedinajad has invited Assad and Talibani to Tehran for a summit this week, If Bush continues to sit on his hands, a political victory may also become a failed hope. If the Syrian backed Sunnis reach an accord with the Iranian backed Shiites it won't be good for the U.S.

No. Not at all. It's just that America has lost it's patience. We were told from the beginning that this was going to be a long war. We're in it now; why not finish something we've started. If we pull out, our soldiers have died for no reason. I live in a military town and talk to these guys every day. They're making progress over there, and are proud of the work they have accomplished. The Iraqi people are thrilled with what they've done. America just needs to have a little more patience, the government needs to stop acting like children, and let our military finish their job.

Kissinger is an idiot. We already won the military victory and are working to support the existing elected government in Iraq.

We will win just by staying the course until the Iraqi people can stand on their own.

How would he know? He no longer has access to any relative information. His "guesses" are about as informed as anyone on Yahoo answers.
