I have a 7 yr old and a 3 yrd old. They both love video games and believe it or not my 3 yr old is not to bad for his age. My husband and I want to buy them one for Christmas but dont want to spend the money for the XBox 360, Nintendo Wii or the PS3 just yet becuase they are still so young. We were thinking of buying them either the Nintendo Game cube, XBox (the 1st one) or the PS2, what do you think is best for them to start with? We arent really sure because we havent played any of them. Thanks!

for a 3 and 7 year old I would go with the nintendo game cube...the playstation games are very easily scratched...and not forgiving to younger children. The game cube has lots of age appropriate games...

Gamecube has a lot more family friendly games. That isn't to say for young children specifically, but less violent (in generally, some are still very violent games) and designed more for 2 to 4 players.

The Mario and Luigi series are all age appropriate for under 10, but some may be hard for the younger child to really play well. Heck, Mario Party is even popular in college dorms.

The Xbox and Ps2 are generally more solo games and targetted at 15+. Generally they focus on war, horror, and/or other adult themes.

The Nintendo gamecube has more of the younger titles as of Super Mario Sunshine,Mario Kart Double Dash(Go Kart Racing game)Animal Crossing,Pikmin and other games along those lines. The Xbox and PS2 are for more of the older adults with games like Grand Theft Auto,Mortal Kombat, more of a mature audience games.I do not know what kind of games you will let your kids play but for fun family friendly type games that everyone can play I would go with the Nintendo Gamecube. For more Mature oriented games go for the PS2 or Xbox. The choice is yours really.Hope this helped out any.If you need to know anything else feel free to email me.

All three platforms have many suitable games for any age. But from my personal experience, Nintendo has been able to appeal more to the younger ages. I would say go with the Gamecube.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It has 300+ hours of game play and tons of exploration and interesting side quests. I love this game and the entire Elder Scrolls series for the story and the game play and basically unlimited character personalization. Also it is an open world sandbox game than can be played however you want, you could play for hundreds of hours and barely touch the main quest line. I definitely recommend this game if you want to play for a long time.

I would definitely go for the Wii because of the hand eye coordination training involved. The games are more likely to be toned down and kid friendly. The Wii looks to please the non gamer with quick, interactive, pick up and play games that you can have fun with in the short 10 minutes you have to play.

I think gamecube. It has games like Pokemon, Mario, Yoshi, kirby, etc. They are more child oriented than the PS2 and Xbox.

The gamecube is near bullet proof, and has a great selection of games for kids.

Gamecube (any Nintendo system) is great for kids. It has the majority of the kid cartoony games.
