Starting a corporation does not have to be hard or cost a lot of money. Depending on where you live, you should be able to go to your state Secretary of State web site to find out what documents are needed and what it might cost. More importantly, you should know what type of corporation you are interested in. You could be an S-Corp, C-Corp, LLC etc. Each one has it's own tax advantages and you should do some research or speak with a CPA to find out which one is best for you. If you are serious about starting a business I suggest you speak with an attorney who specializes in setting up business structures even if you plan to file the paperwork yourself.
