I'm 24 weeks pregnant and within the past few weeks I have just began to feel my baby daughter kicking. My question is, somedays she moves all day long and all night. It seems like she just wont stop, and the kicks/movements are very strong. And other days, I will only feel her once or twice a day, and it seems like she barely moves at all. Then the next day, she's back to kicking and moving all over. Why is this?

The baby moves a lot more than you can feel. The reason you can feel her kicks more on some days is that she's in a different position. If she moves and pushes against your uterus, you'll feel it. But if she's not close to the side (she's still got plenty of room to move around in there), you won't feel it. I went for a 28 week ultrasound and we watched our baby kick and roll around, but I couldn't feel it. It all depends on where she's kicking.

All babys have their days. I would go days without feeling anything and I would call the doctor in fear. Other days I wish the baby would just go to sleep. My daughter is pregnant with her first and Im going throught it all over again with her, lol!!! She comes to me and says he's not moved all day and then then next day she says he wont stop kicking her in the ribs. babys sleep long and babys stay up long. I think it also depends on what your doing at that time or what you've eaten. good luck

That's normal at 24 weeks. My son was the same way. Once you get towards the end of your pregnancy you will feel your baby move and kick a lot more. My son was like a little soccer player at the end.

If the day before she is kicking all day and night dont you think she gets tired also. She is probably just relaxing or sleeping what else is she supposed to do in there. Just be happy she gives you the movement she does she gives you a little break. Mine doesnt all day she kicks all night she doesnt and this happens every day so my breaks are at night thank god

When the baby is kicking it is trying to get in a comfortable position, Once it is it will stop until it needs to adjust again. However if several days pass with no kicking it would be wise to call your Dr. just to be on the safe side.

as long as the baby moves a few times a day its good. if there is a day she doesnt move at all. CALL YOUR DOCTOR QUICK. otherwise you're fine. i have the same thing going on with my little one. sometimes you might be doing things and shes moving and you probably dont even notice. after you eat or even when you're not busy. lay on your back and she'll probably start moving around. i make sure my baby is alright in there. sometimes when shes sleeping i gently pat my stomach, or shake it to wake that baby and get her to move. but i think youre doing fine. at 24 weeks your baby might already have like a sleeping pattern. mine does, and i know when to expect her to move. also if you're baby is moving and it feels really weird call the doctor too..cause sometimes they get tangled up in their cord. not that i wanted to stress you out by saying that...but women need to know these things. :)

love jen.

Completely normal. Sometime its related to their mood, their energy that day, and even what you are doing or have eaten. Sometimes when you think they aren't moving, they really are, but because of their position, you may not feel it. My firstborn was always really active after lunch time or if I had eaten something really sweet, and he would be totally still whenever I was playing my instrument in orchestra. One of my twins was regularly active, while the other barely moved at all (I was always worried he had died). All three of my sons were fine, and all three of them were really different in how and when they moved.

Some say that the slower days are growing days for the baby -- days when she is spending more time growing. It sounds normal to me according to what I've experience, but be sure to bring it up to your doctor during your next visit. Have a great pregnancy!

Everything is OK, she has just worn her self out with all that moving and now she is sleeping. Don't worry it will get to the point you cant wait for her to go to sleep, cause you feel like your insides are bruised. Congrats on the baby princess!

an unborn child has an irregular sleep cycle. when my wife was pregnant, she had several days in a row when our son wouldn't let her sleep. then there were days that we were seriously afraid something was wrong, as there was no movement at all from him. don't worry... your daughter is going to be fine. and probably have extremely strong legs!!
