My boyfriend made me drive his truck on night and I got confused at the Orange line bus stop signals and got a ticket in the mail in his truck..... I am paying for it, but who's record does it go on? If it's his, can he contest it and have it put on mine? Thanks for all your help!

To be more specific, I did not get stopped by a cop. I live in the san fernando valley in California, and it was a camera light where they take the picture of you, and I want to know if there is any way for him to put it on my record? He seems to think he can (although he's decided against it) but I'd feel alot better if I knew if there was anything I could do about it.

who's name is on the envelope? well if you were stoped by any police officers you get the ticket... if you got it in the mail and there were no officers that talked to you, then the police ran the license plate/or VIN # and whoever the owner of the vehicle is gets the ticket... there should be a phone number on the ticket or call the township /county police station where you got the ticket and speak to someone there.

In NYS those type of tickets dont go on anyones record, because the lights cant tell who was driving. They're just a way to get fines and revenue. So pay the ticket and that should be it, but I'd contact your local authorities just to be sure.

It will go on his record as he is the owner of the vehicle and generally those mailed tickets are sent to whoever has registered the vehicle as the information is taken from the license plate. As for having the record swapped, I have no idea

Unfortunately, even since it was not your car that you got the ticket in, you were still the driver. You were the sole operator and the one driving. No matter who owns the truck, you were the one that was licensed and behind the wheel.

Sorry.

If they ticked the truck and the truck is in his name, then it goes against him.
If a cop stopped you and took the info from your drivers licence then, sorry girl but it goes on you.

You were driving at the time.
The ticket is for the driver, not the vehicle.
