the real problem with bullying is that zero tolerance makes it impossible for kids to fight back. you also have the usual no one wants to be a rat unless it's gun or bomb thing. schools don't want to deal with bullies or their families because they care about being sued first. parents dont want to hear their kid is a bully and in a lot of case parents of bullies don't care. in cases where bullies are atheletes the kids being bullied know they don't have a prayer, since the schools protect them so they can keep making money off school sports. nothing has really changed since Columbine, and even then the main cause was bullying inspite of the kids medical problems. ONLY when kids know they can fight back without reprisal and not become bullies themselves is anything going to be done. Bullies are criminals and should be treated like adults for assault. at the very least they need a boot planted in their balls and so do the schools and parents who choose to do nothing.

My opinion about school bullies is simple. They feel threated by others, so to make sure no one takes advantage of them, they begin to pick on the little people. People that they know can't or won't do anything back to them, and people who have no backbone. I was picked on during sixth grade because I had glasses. When I finally got tired of being harassed about it, I stood up to the bullies, and they ended up backing down. Deep down, they're scardy cats. Either they have an older sibling who takes advantage of them at home, or they are insecure about themselves..that is why they do what they do. They can't admit they have a problem, so they take it out on other people. It's a way of life. No matter how old you get, you'll always find that one person who tries to bully you. Stand your ground, and things will get better. -usa-

Bullies are a word made up by lazy teachers who want to control kids from having rough "play" time. The teachers are taking all the masculinity out of boys. Bullying is not a problem in this country. This is a problem made up by teachers and the media. We had real bullying in the seventies and the eighties. What you have now is simply "name calling".

I live in the US. When I was in elementry school, there was a new student by the name of Chad. When I first saw him, I thought he was a female. He had long, curly blond hair, and seemed to be somewhat large chested. When he discovered this, (how he discovered it, I don't know) he immediately began bullying me. It eventually got to the point of him threatening me with a knife. After that, he was transfered to another school. I truly believe school yard bullies are a serious problem that, sadly, will never go away.

I was the target of a female bully when I was in elementary and junior high school. In her case, she was jealous of me because I made much better grades than she did. I"m not a fighter which is why it went on for three years....until the day that I had had enough. I hit her in the stomach with my lunch box. She never bothered me again.
My country is the USA.
