I need to improve my game. I got to get better-please, only ACTUAL tips, not links to websites that don't even talk about Halo 2. Thanks.

(Like I said before--your own tips, or tips from other websites to improve my Halo 2 gaming skillz. Thanks!)

Learn to strafe (move sideways). I can't tell you how many folks don't do it. They always run straight in. Best thing you can teach yourself is how to circle-strafe, which is where you pick a target and simply run sideways but keep your aim on the same place.

If you're trying to improve your multiplayer game, then absolutely, as noted above, headshots are the key. You can improve your headshots by sliding your aim across your targets head just as you pull the trigger. It seems to auto-target a little bit and will correct a shot that might have missed.

Don't aim for the head, aim for the CENTER of the head.. that's a trick hunters use in real life.. if you target the centerpoint of the head and miss, you're still likely to hit the head. If you target the entire head, and miss slightly, you wasted your shot.

When you're playing an objective game, try to stay close to the objective; if you're defending the flag, and someone get's it but is killed, try to return the flag. If it won't return, stay very close-by and watch the flag indicator. If the indicator bar it stops getting smaller, you have enemies nearby, if it get's really small, it'll respawn soon.

Same thing goes for defending against the bomb.. the more teammates you can get near it, the faster it will respawn. If you're attacking, and can't get the bomb itself, just stay close, and it wont respawn, giving other folks on your team more time to go after it. Same thing happens with the flag.

On King of the hill, it always pays to have a teammate stay outside of the circle and kill folks without getting into the middle. If noone on your team is doing it, step up and take that position.. the team that does it successfully will win the match, period.

Whenever you're doing a team game, you need to remember three important things about communicating:

#1 - whenever you use your microphone, your voice is ALWAYS heard by the folks around you.

#2 - When you use "Team talk" the folks around you can STILL hear you.

#3 - Not everyone knows what their teammates sound like.. I LOVE getting into the enemy base by running up to the front and stopping, then saying.. "Hey! I got the guy up-front but there's still two coming from the rear!" Then watch the radar as they all scurry to deal with the new threat. Classic!

If you want pointers on the campaign levels:
Headshots are no good on Flood forms, aim for the central chest area instead, that's where the floods brain is.

If you want a quick way to drop a sentinel, use a plasma gun. Never melee them with the sword, or they will blow away your shields as they explode, leaving you vulnerable. The sentinel beam is a great weapon against the infection flood forms.

When enemies are fighting each other, DONT HELP.. most of the time both of them will decide you're a more important target to go after. Either wait for one of them to win and kill them, or use their fight as a distraction, allowing you to get through to the next area. As soon as you damage someone, they will come for you.. let the flood/covenant do your dirty work when you can.

For more.. go to a site dedicated to doing Halo tricks.. you'll see videos of speed runs and stuff theere that will BLOW your mind.. There's also vids of people "owning newbs in multiplayer".. check those out to see what kinda skills you can pick up.. Best way to play like the masters is to learn from the masters.

Anyways, here's my favorite Halo site.. I'm sure they've got stuff for you there: http://www.highimpacthalo.org

Play alot against higher skilled players. Gain experience using all weapons(yes needlers too) and playing all gametypes (slayer, ctf, oddball). Learn the maps inside and out. No, that doesnt mean being a cheat and doing that super jump crap or modding. No better tip in the world than to just practice and watch what other players too.

I strongly suggest going to http://www.bungie.net. The makers that created Halo. They have a forum that offers tons of tips by other players like myself to other players.

Another tip. Practice. The more you play. The better you are going to be as you will start seeing how others play.

Master the battle rifle (head shots), work on how to throw your plasma grenades to stick people, and play team snipers a lot to practice your sniping (head shots). If you get better in these three areas, you will be a lot better than most people. Also play legit and do not cheat. Modders and people that stand-by SUCK.

First things first. switch your controller options so that you can melee attack with a push on the right analog stick instead of pushing the default button. Melee attacks are crazy powerful if you can sneak up on your opponent. I did it and have never looked back.
