A thong has more coverage than a g-string, because there's some coverage, however slight, of the top of your butt. The strip of material around your waist is also a bit wider in a thong. A g-string is simply a string that goes around your waist with no coverage at all in the back. The front is made of a very small piece of material that covers only your labia.

It mostly has to do with the amount of "coverage" there is. Generally a thong is "wider", so it covers more of the body (such as it does) than a g-string does.

Thong is thicker in the back.. g string is really thin.. makes a T shape as thin as the strings going around the side of your hips...

a thong has a front part. a gstring is much more skinier
