Well, it would have helped if you had told us which model phone it is and which particular virus it has, you know?

Currently, viruses are a serious threat only to Symbian S60 R2 phones (i.e., not to phones running PalmOS or Windows Mobile - or even Symbian S60 R3 or higher), so I'll assume that you have one of those. (If, of course, your diagnosis is correct and the phone is indeed infected - after all, you didn't tell us what exactly the problem consists of; it could be caused by something other than a virus.)

The two prevalent virus families for Symbian S60 R2 phones are Cabir and CommWarrior, so I'll assume that you have one of those. See below for two free utilities for removing the most widespread variants of these two virus families.

If this doesn't solve your problem, then you'll have to ask your question in a more appropriate way - by providing us more particular information.

Oh, and a Symbian S60 phone can formatted by entering *#7370#.
