Just when you think the Seahawks have found a way to keep winning with all those injuries, WHAM! something like this happens! I think that there are three factors that contributed to this: a) After all is said and done, without ALL their best players healthy, the Hawks just aren't really that good. Wallace and Morris have done a good job stepping up overall, but its obviously not enough. The Seahawks have ALWAYS had a bad tendency to "go soft" during the season, for 30 years! b) Lets not forget that this season is officially "crazy." that was according to Pete Priscoe of Sports Illustrated a couple of weeks ago, I agree. This must be the perfect "any given Sunday" season in history: Texans over Jags (twice), Miami over Chicago, Titans over Philly, Raiders over Steelers, Jets over Pats, etc, etc, etc. It seems that NOBODY is really that good and NOBODY is really that bad this year... and c) After a horrible start there is no-one who can ignore the fact that the 49ers have turned their season around and are actually starting to look like a real serious candidate for "surprise team of the season." They have been flying "under the radar" for the past 4 weeks, after handling Seattle they suddenly have to be taken seriously.
That would be my take as an extremely frustrated Seahawks fan...........

Because the 49ers are in the wonderful position of being a suddenly competitive team that is being underestimated at every turn.
But with Alex Smith leading and playing well, Larry Allen back in the line, a defense that has only been allowing ten points per game, and Gore running like his shoes are on fire, its about time the Niners started getting some respect.
Or other teams can continue to underestimate them, and we get to see if we can keep this winning streak going.
49ers second in their division, and they can cement it good next week against the Rams. Then it's back to face a pissed off Seahawks team on the road. It's an interesting time to be a SF fan.

This is the day and age of parity in the NFL. The schedules are constructed to create balance, as is the salary structure. I actually enjoy it. Teams, for the most part, have a chance every week. The Seahawks do miss Hasselbeck, and the 49'ers have figured themselves out. It is good for football.

I think we might have caught them napping. Guess we'll know for sure in 2 weeks when we play them in Seattle.
But what a game, esp. the first half. My pre-season pick was that the Niners would win 6 this year, hopefully they'll end up winning more than I expected.
