it's my birthday and ive spent it alone, my family live abroad and i dont have any friends, I didnt get any cards, i feel so sad, is anyone else in this same position on their birthday?

Why do you feel sad? We reap what we sow. You were alone today because you haven't gone out of your way to make it any different (make friends). Do you aknowledge anybody elses birthday? I'm just asking these questions because I had the same thing happen to me years ago and I realized it had everything to do with my decisions.

Happy Birthday! If that's your picture, I don't understand your not having friends. Go out and make some. I have been in that position in the past, but with the friends I have now, it is no longer a problem. Good Luck!

i have the same... no presents... no cards.. though i send cards and presents to others...
my friend spent it with me last time it was a disaster.. all this talk about debts and disease.. then they got the hiccups from drinking too much and punched themselves in the chest then they passed out and vomited..
i was like.. didn't get a cake or nothing... what the?
and their birthday was a blast! balloons... the stuff they asked for... videos of it... cake... a 16 oz steak like they asked... i cooked them a meal... bbq'd it even... there was wine.. vodka... cheer and movies... and a shirt.... (i was broke ($400 in the hole) making this birthday a success... sheesh)
i got a bit miffed but i kept it to myself and i shot them up with confetti launchers until their face was blue.. ha ha.. their ears rang for a week and a half.
haw haw.

least you won't have the drama.. if you're alone.. you can do so much alone... quality time. that me time many wish they had... treat yourself... do what you want to do.. being lonely can suck anus muscles.. but... there's benefits to it also.
enjoy it while ya got it.
oh and happy birthday.. hey go spend your money.. get some movies.. buy a toy you want... hell get a pet... get some stuffed animals too.... play! and be merry.
who knows.... maybe invite us all to a webcast or something?

So sorry that you feel sad and had your birthday alone....I hope your year ahead though is filled with making new friends & that you'll have opportunities to see some of your family too. Happy birthday to you! Mine was this past weekend...so High^Five to my sister scorpio.

I've spent many birthdays somewhat alone too. My parents couldn't be bothered = no cakes nor cards nor presents nor well-wishings from them; & I haven't got that many friends either.
But oh well... I've survived. =) Now, I just try not to remember it's my birthday. It makes me feel better.

What, you dont have any friends? I dont believe that!! Your parents must have issues to not come out of their way to come and see their own daughter on her birthday!!

i worked like a 12 hour shift waiting tables at a crappy restaurant for the past three years.
past the age of, oh, twelve, birthdays are sort of silly.
p.s. get out and meet some new people, FAST!!!!!!!!!

yeah ive had that happen before and noone even said happy birthday.. then i told them the next day and they were like !you should have told us! but have you told them its your birthday? cuz i'm sure you have lots of friends :)... christian
