if ANY of your ancestors came from a spanish-speaking country, then you are at least partially hispanic. It doesn't have to be within the last three generations--it's not like that bloodline just dissappears!

He is incorrect.Your ancestry may have originated in a Spanish country while your parents and/ or grand parents were all born here in the US. You are definitely American however of the Hispanic culture. So, yes you are Hispanic. Smile!

No. I'm half hispanic and half white. You are hispanic if you were born in this country. If someone is for example, Mexican, then that's where the rule usually applys. If your parents or grandparents are from a different country, example: Mexico, then they are Mexican. Same with other examples. But, if you were born in the country, you are hispanic.

If it's in your liniage, than that's what you are.

I have ten nationalities in my family tree.
Chances are if you research enough. You will find family that you are directly related too, that still live in latin countries.
I know we still have family in mexico, and that part of my family has been in america for 75 years.
Another part is irish, and I'm 3rd generation on that end. And then there is my mom's dad who is first generation american, from germany.

Your family tree goes back so far. Just research

the rule where you are probably getting this from is a stupid rule and shouldnt be used or applied or anything. if someone in your family has blood or cultural ties to a country or race and passed it on through the family line then that is part of who you are and you should embrace it.

being Hispanic is a race and ethnic identity. It may not be your nationality--for example, you could be a Hispanic-American.
