By private individuals, if they own the item, they can burn it. It's their property, and whether doing it as symbolic expression or merely disposing of personal property, it's not something that can be regulated by the govt.

If you're talking about the state seizing property and destroying it, then such action constitutionally prohibited as infringment on both speech and religion.

So, (at least in the US) the state can't stop people from doing it, but they can't do it themselves.

Why is bible burning any different than regular book burning? Either way I find book burning to be a ridiculous act but no, burning books of any kind should not be banned.

No, it shouldnt be illegal. I would prefer book burning not be done, but if done as a statement, that is free speech and is protected.

I especially think you can not specify the bible. This would be a violation of seperation of church and state, which is a tenet of our constitution, despite what some evangelicals say.

Yes, ANOTHER law, that will fix the world.

To a non-christian a bible is just a book. Why should my tax dollars pay to punish someone for expressing their feelings against a book.

We have enough laws, but sadly, too few intelligent people to see it.

No book burnings should be illegal. Accept those conducted by a government agency itself.

No. Those who suggest that it should might consider emigration to a country where such things aren't protected by our Constitution. I would suggest Iran.

no----God gave free choice....it is a freedom of speech issue (yes i recognize i am mixing government and religion) so while one might go to hell or something for burning a Bible...if everything in it is really true...which i don't believe in it...then they might go to hell...but shouldn't go to jail....

No, not if it is my property.

A waste of literature, but I can burn it if I want to.
