Canada easily has the most lakes among the countries of the world, because of the unique topography of the country. Any country with a good amount of precipitation will have many rivers.

Lakes and rivers tend to be classified as fresh water (which is different than the salt water associated with seas and oceans).
In order, the countries with the most fresh water (based on volume of water flow) are:
Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, China, United States, Colombia, Peru, and India.
To put it in perspective, Brazil has slightly less than twice the water of Canada, and approximately 4.5 times the flow of India..
