True, the president can pardon people convicted of federal crimes. It is one of the powers the president has as chief executive. The number is unlimited. He is however unable to pardon state crimes. The governor of the state is the only one who can pardon those.

I think the President can pardon and/or reduce the sentence of persons convicted of Federal crimes, but it is very unlikely that he would do so. In 1953 when the Rosenbergs were sentenced to death for selling atomic secrets to the Russians, Eisenhower could have saved them from the death penalty, but he didn't.

He can pardon people before they are convicted or even charged. Most people don't know that.

Yes! If he wanted to, but it rarely happens. The president is the most powerful man in the country and can do alot more than people realize.
