It could be that you're pregnant but don't have much of the pregnancy hormone yet. Try another test. Do it first thing in the morning when the pregnancy hormone is highest. If you are still uncertain, you can request a blood test, which will leave no doubt, but sometimes the doctor will tell you to wait a day or two and take the home pregnancy test again.

Wait another day or so and test again.
If it is still negative and you get your period, you likely experienced a chemical pregnancy. This is when the embryo implants and starts to produce hCG (pregnancy hormone) but then fails and you miscarry. Many women don't know they were even pregnant b/c they begin to bleed around the time the expected their period.
If you don't get a positive and your period doesn't show you should go see your doctor for a blood test. Some women don't show up on home pregnancy tests.
No matter what you need to see your doctor to make sure everything is okay.

You may only be a little pregnant (ie like a week) and there fore there isn't a lot of the pregnancy horomone (hCG) in your urine..
They say your first morning pee has the greatest amount of the horomone in it, so the first pee may have had enough of the pregnancy horomone in it to give the positive result, while the second one didn't. You should retest in the morning with your first pee, and see what happens. You should also maybe see your doctor. I can't tell you whether your pregnant or not, but I wish you the best of luck!

Your pregnant. You can't get a false positive with these tests, so all you need is one with a line. The second one you did was probably slightly less sensitive than the first or the hormone in your urine was more dilute.

Did you use the same brand of test at the same time of day?
Also drinking alot of water before you test can dilute it also.
