This a country by the corporation, for the corporation. Few care about the (dried grape)raisin business. But McDonald's is big business (now we're talking). McDonald's is allowed to slowly poison people with it's diet rich in trans-fat and by the way, every time you heat a cooking oil it breaks down releasing carcinogens into the oil. Heat the same oil again & it breaks down again. Micky D's changes the oil abt, once a week. If you should eat there on the 7th day, good luck as you'll probably need Chemotherapy down the line. There main concern is profit not your health. Ronald McDonald should be in jail.

They should be able to advertise their products - fast food restaurants, after all, are legal, aren't they?

People just have to resolve themselves to taking a little responsibility for their own life styles.
It's a fast food restaurant, not a health spa.

Grab a burger on the run when your schedule is jammed up (actually, kind of convenient)- no problem - eat a 3/4 lb burger, a large fry and a 32 oz. Coke for lunch every day - big problem.

We can't legislate common sense - and we shouldn't try. If someone weighs 350 lbs and they slam down a "biggie size" meal two or three times a day (washed down with a diet soda:) - how can we possibly fault the restaurant? And, more importantly, why should we?

I would like to know the law you are citing when you state that it will soon be illegal to advertise raisins on tv (as I seriously doubt it is actually happening). Last time I checked, we were all free to make our own decisions and eat whatever we feel like, why do we need to regulate what foods can be advertised?

I don't think McDonald's will be advertising their burgers and fries just the healthy options. Parents are not really stupid they have been told what is good for their children they have just chose to ignore it.
I think an unhealthy treat ie crisps, sweets and junk food are ok occasionally

I personally think the whole thing is ridiculous, what does banning junk food ads on childrens tv do anyway? They're not the ones who go shopping, it's their parents and if as a parent of a small child you can't say no when they whine for something, how is that the food industrys fault?

In my opinion McDonald's is the largest single cause of obesity in the US.

Why?

Do a search on who is the largest purchaser of beef in the world. As the largest purchaser, don't you think they have a say in how those cows are raised? You bet they do! Cattle in the US are given growth hormones to get them to slaughter faster. The thing is, those growth hormones aren't killed by cooking. The do the same thing to people that they do to the cattle. Make them mature faster and put on weight.

And I won't even get into the feed companies recycling dead animals back into feed which is how mad cow disease started.

Why do you think other countries do not allow beef from the US to be exported to them?

Big corporations buy the laws that they want to protect themselves. And as long as WE THE PEOPLE turn a blind eye, they will continue to do so.

there's no longer something subliminal approximately television merchandising i think of, yet they do needless to say attempt to impression you. thousands of thousands of dollars are spent on merchandising as a fashion to attempt to persuade human beings to purchase their product. There are agencies monitoring such events and opposition learn fees and ideas utilized by utilising others of their industry, so I doubt they might smash out with "ideas administration" of any style. As to posoning the minds of infants... for plenty the comparable motives, no longer something sinister occurring there i think. however the cartoons those days are worse than highway Runner ever substitute into! lol

I don't get it? What reason have they come up with for not advertising raisins? Where's the logic in it all?
