Despite what people say, the vaccine does not make anyone sick. It is more likely, due to timing of flu shots that they already had a little cold coming on, or that their body had an immune system response that left them a little tired and run down, but not really sick.

Or they are allergic to eggs. They could also have an allergic reaction to the flu shot as it is grown in eggs, but that allergy is often a very serious allergy and can be life threatening.

Noone should ever get sick from a flu shot. Most people think that a flu shot is a "weaker strain" of a flu virus which makes you less sick than if you got a regular flu. But the flu shot contains "dead" virus which can't infect other cells.
You may feel a little achy and get a very slight fever....which is your immune system reacting to the flu shot and building immunity. Also you can get a little sore around where you got the shot. All very minor symptoms though.

If you (or anyone) gets sick right after a flu shot. It is because it just happened they were exposed to the real flu virus right before they got their flu shot.

You cannot get sick from the Flu Shot. I have been getting the shot for the last 8 years and I've never gotten sick. However, one year I was running a low grade temp and a minor sore throat, and I got it as I was and I got worse with an ear infection. They say not to get if if you are running some sort of a cold, cough or ear problems. That's when you get worse, but from the shot, you cannot get sick. It's a dead virus that they give you in the shot.

I have not but my son has. It may have just been coincidence but the day after getting his flu shot he got sick, not badly but ran a little temperature and had a headache. It lasted a couple of days. I still felt like it's better to not feel great then to get the full blown flu and be sick for 10 days.

I got the flu shot this year because I got the flu last year and it was horrible! I was not getting the shots because I did for three years running in the late 90's and actually got a milder case of the flu. They say that this is impossible, but I say it's too much of a coincidence. I work in a doctor's office and it is strongly advised that we receive our flu vaccine because we come in contact with so many people. The doctors offer it for free so that we don't miss work.

I haven't had the flu in almost 20 years, everyone I know who has gotten the shot, came down with the flu 2 weeks later. I'm not about to volunteer for that

Never!

I do get a sore arm and a bit of a bruise. However, a tiny allergy shot does the same to me.
