I recently bought a new set of luggage and it has a smell to it that I don't want my clothes to smell like it when I land. Anyone have any idea of how to get odors out before I use this luggage?

soak cotton balls in vanilla extract then put them in your luggage. Vanilla is a nature odor eater!
Good luck! Hope this helps!

Clean the luggage (outside with linseed oil). Use febreze for the inside. It probably smells like mold or mildew. Use the plastic bags that are air tight used for traveling. Space Bags I think. They are great. They sell them at Target and they will keep any smells that you might not get out off of your clothes. Keep a carry on of febreze.

Soak a cotton handkerchief in Febreze and leave it in the zippered luggage overnight.

If it's not expensive leather, you can also wipe it down with plain white vinegar and allow to air dry in the sun.

Crumple up a bunch of newspaper (fresh newspaper, not really old newspaper) and put it inside the suitcase. Leave it shut for a few days. The newspaper will get some of the smell out.

I agree use febreze and then when you pack your clothes put a couple of dryer sheets in the suit case. The dryer sheets are great for putting in with your dirty clothes too until you can wash them. Makes dirty smell fresh. cheers
