Perimenopause (or 'pre'menopause) can begin as early as a woman's thirties - or in rare cases, even earlier. The quickest way to find out for sure why you are experiencing hot flashes and moodiness is to see a physician. Low thyroid can also cause moodiness as will a host of other medical and emotional problems such as clinical depression. Since there are pharmaceutical remedies as well as homeopathic remedies for perimenopause - or whatever you are experiencing - seek the advice of a qualified practioner.

It's possible that you are in premenopause. Some of the symptoms are hot flashes and irritability, but I would see a doctor to be sure. Family history, as previously mentioned, is something to consider and should also be told to your doctor when you go to see one. Check out the linked article for more info (and an extensive list of symptoms).
