Head onto the BT website. They have a link to their privacy service and hey presto, it's the TPS !! Register and it'll take a month and then all calls will stop. You'll still get the odd automated call service though.

Ring the operator (100) and ask to be put through to the Telephone preference service, they will put you on a list to stop companys ringing you up.
If companys are ringing you up just ask for their company name and tell them that you are registered with the TPS, they hang up pretty sharpish.........

go to donotcall.gov and they legally have to stop calling you or they will have to give you a ton of money. It does not work with politics and companies you are associated with
