has anyone found out that they where pregnant but?

had to wait till they where 12 weeks to have a scan?? and if so how did the wait feel??

its very frustrating and annoying as you just cant wait to see your little bundle on the scan.

With my first baby I had to wait till 20 weeks till my first scan, this was really awful, incase they detected an abnormality, plus I didn't actally believe it till I saw something. IT was really worrying to wait so long the scan was Christmas Eve so it could've been a really drastic Christmas. Luckily everything was fine, but waiting so long was agony and made my mind race constantly. Currently 7+ weeks and will get a scan At 12 & 20 weeks which glad about, still along wait but better than the last. Good luck, I think that 12wk is average unless there has been a problem so far in pregnancy:)

I found out that i was pregnant on the 30th October 2002 and because of very irregular periods i didnt know how far gone i was. I didnt have my scan until 18th December 2002 and by the time i did they found out that i was already 16 weeks. It was very annoying having to wait but its also worth the wait. Seeing your baby for the first time is a magical experience that will bring anyone to tears. Dont stress the time will come and you will love it! Congratulations btw

I found out i was pregnant at about 8 weeks and i didnt have my first scan till about 12 weeks, i kept thinking that it wasnt real until i saw my baby on the ultra sound.

yes everyone needs to wait until 12 weeks unless something is wrong they get you in sooner. it does feel like a long time but when u see the scan its worth the wait. i have jus had my 20 week scan and that was amazing

I went to the doctor with what I thought was an infection only to be told I maybe pregnant, but they could not find the egg, so I had to wait another 2weeks to find out weather I had miscarried or I was pregnant. I had a scan at 7weeks and yes I was pregnant. that was the most scary time of my life I couldn't tell anyone.

I am pregnant and had a sono at 5 weeks....which was the other day because my progesterone levels are low. I would gladly have waited until 12 weeks to have the sono if that would mean that I had a better chance of carrying cause my progesteronw waas high enough.....it is hard to wait...I have another one schedualed on the 30th....to see if we have a heartbeat yet...and I am going nuts waiting to see if my baby is alive still. i'll be 13 weeks pregnant this saturday, and ive been told i wont be having my 1st scan until im 20 weeks, plus apparently its the only scan i'll have throughout my pregnancy, which seems a bit silly so im hoping that the baby will cooperate then so we can see it properly and also to see if its a boy or a girl.

for some reason they don't give you your first scan until about 11-14 weeks in this country. it is a really long wait but worth it in the end. it sounds really stupid but you have to try not to thnk about it (i know it's probably the only thing you do think about) but it is better for you and the baby to relax as much as possible, espcially in the first trimester.

I didn't have my fist doctors appointment until I was 10 weeks and I have only had one ultrasound and it was at 20 weeks. It was hard to wait for the ultrasound because I wanted to know the sex and make sure the baby was healthy.

just pretend u are having cramps / pains reguarly and they may send u for an early transvaginal scan. I got one at 5 and 7 weeks, and another at 13 weeks, although I wasn't pretending with mine, how would they know if u were on not?
