Many of the great works of literature were initially published in serialized form (Dickens, Tolstoy, etc.) and I was wondering if there were any magazines or journals that still do this. Can anyone help or provide any links?

A few. The NY Times Sunday magazine has started carrying serialized fiction, and the newest short book by Scott Turow was orinially published there in serial fashion. The modern equivalent of the popular serialized fiction is the television series, where we turn in to see the weekly story of our heroes. Recently, tv in the US has become even more like those serials, in that a series might tell one story that ends with the season, like a serialized novel -- examples are 24, or many of the new shows this season, and also the telenovella form, which has been copied by ABC for Ugly Betty.
