I have to go with Master of Puppets. The title track, "Battery," "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)," and "Disposable Heroes" are such devastating songs. I think this album was a real leap forward for them.

I love Master of Puppets, & it was a huge leap forward for them, but my favorite would be The Black Album. It was, and still is, not only a huge success...but it launched them into mainstream notice. It hit the scene with the force of a nuclear warhead & rippled out from there.

This is a tuff question as Metallica is my favorite band of all time and influenced me to start playing guitar.Everthing from kill em all to load i love but to pick one i would have to agree and say master of puppets because cliff was still with them and you can here the bass well on that album .And justice for all is so close to being my favorite i like the guitar riffs more on justice but the bass cannot be heard on album. My favorite song on puppets is lepper mesiah or orion because there so heavy!!!!!!!!!

I think Metallica is the most over-rated band ever.

I just don't get it...
