Anyone else find it ridiculous that Michigan is still number 2 in the BCS?
Everyone who saw that game on Saturday knows that the game wasn't as close as the final score would lead you to believe. Michigan never led after their first TD, and were more than 7 points down for about 75% of the game.

SEC is by far the best conference. Florida, and USC are more deserving of the number 2 BCS position. University of Texas would beat the snot out of Michigan.

I would not say the big ten is overrated..Michigan IS the second best team in the country...They would kick the snot out of USC !!!
You are crazy if you think Texas could take Michigan..Granted Texas is solid and I think Colt MCcoy will be one of the greats..
But that is a ridiculous statement!!!
Go Buckeyes

They shouldn't be #2, honestly. Being a fan of a Big Ten school and living in Big Ten country, I can tell you that while there are many years where the Big Ten is among the top 2 conferences in the country, it ain't this year. There are some really bad teams in this conference (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa [who really went into a tailspin this year], Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern) and even the teams with OK records aren't that good (Penn State, Purdue). And before anyone jumps up and down about Wisconsin and their 11-1 record, take a look at their schedule and tell me that at least 25-30 teams in the country could have done as well if not gone undefeated with that schedule.
Look at Michigan's schedule and they have 5 wins over teams who are under .500, vs. 2 for USC.
Sorry, but yes Virginia, the Big Ten is overrated in 2006.

The Big 10 isn't overrated, this year. They have 3 teams that are legitimately worthy of a National Championship game apperance. Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin...All with One Loss or Less, no other conference has more than 2 One-Loss or Better teams and that is only the SEC with Arkansas and Florida.

Big 10 is not overrated, it is rated correctly. If Michigan goes to a different game and plays usc, florida, or whoever, they will win, in fact they will win big. and so will Ohio State, because when all is said and done, these are the best teams. I know, its hard for everyone else to step back and admire. you have to give michigan credit for scoring 39 points on a team that averages 7.8 allowed a game. that is why they are in the 2nd spot. this saturday will tell when USC plays Notre Dame. I'm hoping that Notre Dame wins, and Arkensas beats Florida well enough to jump Michigan. so it would be ohio vs Ark, Michigan vs USC, and Florida vs Notre Dame
happy everyone?

The Big 10 is not overrated on a year to year basis. It maybe overrated this year. Outside of Michigan, OSU and Wisc there are no good teams this year. Michigan is a very good team. I think the defenses in the Big 10 are a little overrated. Neither OSU or Michigan is as good as I thought on defense.
Michigan could give any one loss team a great game.

There is no other conference to be in! Texas had a shot to beat a Big 10 team and OSU cleaned the field with them. Ohio State goes to USC next year and then we will see which one is better.

Because many of the states that are in the Big 10 do not have a variety of professional sports. So the people in these stated are so hungry for a sport so they latch on to college sports to get their sports fix. Thus, they get huge crowds and the more people that network about how great these teams are the better rating they will get. And this conference probably has the biggest fan base.

It's all about who brings in the most money to the network television stations and their school sports program. And it's all about GREAT consistent football teams with long-time traditions and a huge alumini... and OSU and Michigan are not only GREAT consistent college football teams with years of tradition and a huge alumni but they absolutely HATE each other (in a very good way).
