I do not put things off till the last minute as much as I used to, but I do it enough to get on my nerves. I was thinking that procrastination and laziness might go hand in hand. Or, they might feed on one another. I heard on the HBO show "Deadwood" a great quote. "Why put off doing something tomorrow that I can put off till the day after tomorrow?"

You are too funny Vicki! It's funny, I often "like" to work on deadline. That is, I know I can have something done by Friday, and it's Monday, so there is no hurry, so while I might think of it or plan I don't actually do anything until Thursday ... when there is a real deadline.

I was like that in school, and sometimes now in the job.

But when you think of it, it's like the "why put off until tomorrow what you can do today". I know I use that philosophy about cleaning my room, or getting oil for car, or whatever. Still, there are times when if I really, really don't want to do something I put it off. And, in those cases, it is part being lazy and part just wanting to work on easier things first to get an immediate impact.

This is a good question!!!!! We could discuss all day.

I think procrastination and laziness definately go hand in hand! It's not really an excuse to say you procrastinate, cause if you say that you procrastinate everyone knows it means you were lazy and didn't want to do it. At least that's how I feel. I always procrastinate, but I know It's just cause I'm lazy!

I have met many who procrastinators who are just plain lazy.

However, I have also seen first hand, procrastinators who claim to be sooooo busy that they just can't get things done. This led me to look deeper. I found that they pushed themselves to be busy so they could claim to be to busy to do the things they DIDN'T want to do.

People tend to NOT procrastinate with things they enjoy but put off that which they do not enjoy. Lazy? I think not but highly stupid of them to do it. I know some who hate paying their bills so they put if off and now are in deep financial troubles. Choice? YES !! They / WE all choose to be exactly where we are in life !!

I am NOT a procrastinator... aaaaaaaaaaaagh life is GOOD !!

Funny since probably more than half the people here are probably doing just that by writing on this site. Could be laziness or could just be avoiding something that you'd rather not do. I know it is much easier to put things off when I know I can do something easier and less stressful first.

Naw, it's too big of a word for lazy people otherwise it would be shorter like lackadaisical heheh its spelled wrong but i being lazy used the spellchecker to change it rather than look up the word itself myself. I procrastinated while looking it up and found a better way to be lazy.

Yep. I've been going to get up from the computer and go to the bathroom for the last 45 minutes. I keep telling myself just one more question...

I wouldnt say its being lazy. As long as you get it done on time and efficiently, it's ok.
